Code Enforcement Officers

The position of Code Enforcement Officer was created to alleviate some of the pressure on certified law enforcement, allowing them to devote their attention to matters of traffic, misdemeanor and felony criminal activity.  Code Enforcement Officers are responsible for locating and identifying violations of the City Code of Fort Morgan within the City's limits.  Many of the duties include enforcement of animal control, parking control, weed and snow removal, refuse violations, watering violations and any other Code violation.  These unarmed officers are commissioned to issue citations for these types of offenses.  There are currently two Code Enforcement Officers for the City of Fort Morgan; they are under the direct supervision of the Support Services Lieutenant.

Code Enforcement Officer John Simpson started with the Fort Morgan Police Department in 1998.  He enforces municipal codes set by the City.  In his spare time, he enjoys sports, woodworking and spending time with his family.  MESSAGE:  "To be a winner, you have to believe in yourself."
